Buddy Judge has been writing & performing music since age 11 and has been composing music for film & television since 2001. Starting his career as a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he has performed with, produced, and written music with many different artists including Aimee Mann, Michael Penn, Liz Phair, and The Wallflowers. He was a singer/ songwriter in The Grays, with Jon Brion and Jason Falkner.
After producing songs for Aimee's critically acclaimed record "Bachelor #2" (many of which were featured in Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia) and performing on The Oscars in 2000, Buddy began writing music for film in earnest.
His first project, According to Spencer, was an independent romantic comedy starring Jesse Bradford and inlcuded David Krumholtz, Adam Goldberg, and Giovanni Ribisi. The eclectic score blended hip-hop rhythms, acoustic guitars, and classic string arrangements.
Funny Old Guys, a bittersweet HBO documentary about a weekly meeting of octogenarian ex-comedy writers who get together to eat lunch, tell prostate jokes, and generally crack wise, offered another oppurtunity to write a wide variety of music. The score moved from farcical to serious and contained elements ranging from 60's TV themes to Klezmer.
Buddy has been continuing to write for film and television. He wrote and produced songs as well as composed the score for a documentary about the G.I. Movement, Sir!, No Sir! which won the audience award at the L.A. Film Festival, was nominated for a 2006 Independent Spirit Award, and received two thumbs up from Ebert and Roeper.
